I feel that so much has already been said about Venice that I am somewhat lost for words. It is also very difficult to describe a feeling a city invokes in a person. How do you describe that warm sensation, like you are constantly being caressed  by the person you are in love with it?  This is Venice to me – perfect, warm, enigmatic and full of untold stories.

You can experience Venice in many different shapes or forms. For example, going at 12 pm in Piazza San Marco is probably not the same as going at 7. Walking through the main streets is not the same as getting lost in the tiny little pathways. Going around the less mainstream canals, where you can barely see a soul. I feel Venice has 2 faces – one, for the tourist crowds taking selfies with a selfie stick, at every landmark. The second, for the people who like to experience it in private. It is easy to choose one or the other. Just turn left when everyone is going right. This article is my view of the pathways of Venice, a visual guide. I find Venice a true inspiration for my photography, as all the colours are just made to work together – every tone and nuance just match. My camera loves it too, so I hope you enjoy what I saw, and also try to create your own pathway in Venice.

Eating a gelato with a canal backdrop is a must do in Venice. Anywhere and anytime
Venice
The canals – those colours are meant to be together, and I just follow them along. I do not use maps, I just walk and see where do I end up. Sometimes the beauty is in just wandering around
Venice
This is one of the main canals ‘The Grand Canal”, you cannot miss it as it is so different to all the other ones, given the white buildings surrounding it
Venice
Have an espresso in one of those holes in the wall types of places
Venice
You can sit on Giudecca island and just observe Venice
Venice
You can also feed pigeons while observing Venice (if you are into those kinds of things) 🙂
Venice
Tables are set up on the streets, for celebrations and the backdrop is magical
Venice
Aqua Libreria is a must visit. Old books, new books, antiques and all… all placed in boats to preserve them from the raising waters. Go early to avoid the huge crowds
Venice
The gondolas and their colours can be found on every corner, in the backstreets/bridges you can find them sitting silently in calm waters
Venice
The gondolliers push themselves from the walls to get a bit more speed or to avoid other gondolas coming towards them. I find small streets that just end into a canal, to sit and observe the traffic
Venice
Lean back and do some people watching, there is a lot of glamour on every corner
Venice
More colour combos that make my heart twirl

Venice
The Douge’s palace is a must visit, for it is crazy architecture and interiors. It was party central back in the days
Venice
Even when the sun sets, the colours are still magic
Venice
A distant view of the Basillica

I hope you enjoyed looking at Venice through my eyes. X
