Have you tried the afternoon tea at Thomas’ yet? If not, drop what you are doing and head over because it is a-m-a-zing. Where to start? First, you can go through the main shop entrance or through Thomas’ own entrance. This is one big Burberry store, so I would say go through the store as it gives you this beautiful, grand feeling.
This is going to be a very visual post, as I am genuinely in love with the lighting in this place – I finally know what true love is 😉
Thomas’ is split into 2 levels and I absolutely love that concept. The downstairs area is more casual and all Burberry brown palette. The upstairs is all white and pastel, high windows and it is just one of the most beautiful settings I have seen recently. It must be the perfect light and high ceilings.
We were so lucky to have the area to ourselves, as we were there for the latest serving. It is a blogger’s dream – being able to run around a place and take as many pictures as they want, without feeling conscious that the other 230 people inside think this is weird.
The service was perfection, not too much and not too little. I personally hate when I go to some luxury places and everything is way over the top, it borders being fake. Here, the staff was genuinely kind and making sure we had the best of time. They offer a gluten free version of the afternoon tea, which needs to be booked 24h prior to arrival. It is an amazing option to have, as my friend cannot eat anything with gluten. Both options come with bubbly if you wish and both options are delicious. The gluten free is possibly a bit healthier 🙂
Surrounded by light and this interior, it was a magical afternoon of finger sandwiches, tea cakes and champagne. They were kind enough to give us some scones and jams to go. I honestly felt spoiled, very spoiled. It was one of those moments where you think – do I really need to go home? How am I going to deal with reality afterwards.
I would really recommend the experience, you will not regret it. If not the full blown afternoon tea, definitely a coffee on the ground floor. I am actually planning to go and have my morning spent there tomorrow morning, catching up on my writing even more. It is an inspirational corner. Burberry showcases some of the finer details behind their creations and it is all about craftsmanship, when creating master pieces.
And on that note, have a fabulous Sunday babes x
