There are few more iconic London places than Covent Garden. In its usual impeccable style, it has gotten all dressed up for Easter and it has a lot to offer. I spent a day doing some fun activities around and I wanted to share this guide with you for some last minute ideas about gifts or experiences.
Covent Garden chocolate hunt:
As I am a big chocolate lover a big chunk of this article will revolve around chocolate and what eggs can be found around Covent Garden, at the end I am also sharing a few gift ideas. Let’s begin.
Hotel Chocolat – by the sounds of it, this is a place where chocolate can be found. Indeed. The chocolate comes in all shapes and forms, including vegan options. One of my new favourites is a white chocolate latte, served in Hotel Chocolat’s basement floor. In there, you can also find their 1kg pure chocolate indulgence Easter egg… the biggest I have ever seen.
Godiva – one cannot talk about chocolate and Easter and not mention Godiva. Their chocolate dipped strawberries are divine, you can watch them get made while you are at it.
Venchi – OK, I am ice cream lover devotee and there is nothing that can make my day better than a good cone of ice cream. Venchi is true Sicily at the heart of Covent Garden and their pistachio ice cream is mama mia delicious. They also have a whole lower ground floor full of chocolate goodies, so if ice cream is not your thing, head downstairs to chocolate heaven
The Ivy Covent Garden – the original Ivy. It never seizes to amaze me how the Ivy can always stay relevant so many years later. If you are tired of walking about, have a seat for a bit. They have the best brunch but also they are serving a special Easter dessert, which needs to be tasted to be believed. Rich flavours of caramel, chocolate and mouse make for the perfect treat after a meal.
A few gift ideas to make anyone’s Easter that extra special.
Penhaligon’s new fragrance ‘Elizabethan Rose’ is a must have this season. I have been a hard core fan of their Savoy Steam for more than a year but now I feel like I am shifting towards this new fragrance. It has the rose base (similar to savoy Steam). “A rose is a rose is a rose” – but not all roses are created equal. If you do not believe, go and give it a sniff, you will fall in love. Their Covent Garden store is always welcoming.
Flowers are always a good idea, and although not in Covent Garden, still a good Easter addition to any table or heart. I recently discovered Fleurbox Co, Boxes of Luxury and while I write this, I am admiring their gorgeous bouquet. Still alive 1 week later.
Even if you are not into chocolate as much or Easter as a matter of fact, go and enjoy a day out in Covent Garden. The beautiful floral displays and cute shops have something for everyone.
Happy Easter my loves, may it be full of chocolate eggs, fluffy bunnies and relaxed days. X
