West London is my jam and yet I just discovered this beautiful enclave in the heart of Knightsbridge – The Franklin Hotel. Nestled 5 min walk from Harrods, its private entrance ensures that you can disappear from prying eyes, the moment you step in.
The hotel offers 35 bedrooms, split across 3 town houses. The back opens to a beautifully manicured private garden, where you can have your morning coffee.
The check in area is unique. Gorgeous marble tables sit on both sides of the hallway and the receptionists just hang gout there with their brand new Macs, checking guests in. The vibe is dark and private, the decor is lush symmetry. A little bit of my favourite Alice in Wonderland vibe going on, clean black and white lines and shapes reminding me of a chess game. Contrasting on the other hand, a Moroccan inspired mirrored room.
The bedrooms are inspired by the outdoors, and bringing it indoors. Garden furniture concepts are incorporated in all the furniture, giving a cosy and refreshing feel within the rooms. The flower inspired wall art is a private collection that the hotel purchased and it is absolutely unique. One can also refresh themselves, with The Franklin’s own tea blend in every room.

Join a cocktail making masterclass:
Salvatore, The Franklin’s resident bartender extraordinaire, is now offering cocktail making masterclasses. We obviously had to try it out and it was so much fun. We got to step behind the bar and throw a few shakers around, set a few things on fire and learn to coordinate our moves (difficult task for someone like me). Salvatore was a great teacher. he asked us a few questions to start with, so he could understand what would the best cocktail be for our tastes and preferences. I can say he nailed it on 2/2 on the ones I chose. You can book this for yourself here, or maybe organise a small party with your pals? The bar is intimate, and ideal for a small gathering or activity. You get loads of sacks too, so it’s a win/win.
Why not give it a try, I personally cannot wait to go back.
