Welcome to Strazzanti
I wish I could insert heart emojis everywhere in my title. Last week my dear friend @meanderingmacaron organised a bunch of Instagrammers to go and visit Strazzanti in Fitzrovia. She told us, how one day she was walking around the area when she spotted the little shop. She popped in, attracted by the yum display of Italian pastries and she met Emilia, the sweet owner of this Italian heaven.
G (@meanderingmacaron) then decided to invite a couple of us to pop over and meet Emilia. Also, giving us a chance to share the experience with you my darling readers. I want to say – if you are into Italian food, read on, this will be truly delicious. Given the fact that I lived in Malta for almost 7 years, I am a self proclaimed Italian food connoisseur.
Emilia was so sweet to prepare a private event for us all, allowing us to sample her delicious creations but also admire her and her sister’s creativity. Strazzanti is connected to INNO – a fashion brand owned by Emilia’s very talented sister – Sofia. The ambience of Strazzanti is for all of you fashionistas. Sample Emilia’s delicious cakes, sip your coffee and go through the latest fashion trends with Sofia.
Emilia is a Michelin star trained chef and has worked with some of the best names in the industry between Rome, Paris and London. I am not going to reveal her whole story, as it is much sweeter to hear it directly from her. But her passion spans from family history, a war love story and a lot of love.
Emilia only uses local and natural ingredients in her cakes, directly imported from warm and sunny Sicily. She also does not prepare her cakes to be full of sugar. She relies on her high quality ingredients to provide the desired taste. Also, did I mention the cakes are gluten free?
If you are looking for a treat in that gloomy weather, do not hesitate and hop off to Fitzrovia. You won’t regret it. Or why not treat mom to something special this Mother’s Day?
