I am once again finding myself a bit lost for words but O-M-G! Sketch is a place of another realm. I have wanted to go there for so long. Every time I was meant to, something came up and I did not manage to fulfil my desire. A few weeks ago, I got a lovely early birthday surprise by the lovely Luke (@lukecabrahams) to have brunch on a Saturday.
The ambience:

Pictures do not do this place justice. The whole ambience is meant for all senses. The music, the staff, the decor, the smells – everything works together in making sure you know that you know nothing. I love places with an edge and there isn’t one I have found that I love more.
The staff are all dressed in specially made uniforms and each rooms has its own vibe, look and feel.
The gallery:

Sketch has 5 rooms – obviously I was mainly obsessed with the all pink The Gallery. It is sensational. It is too much and yet it all works together. I genuinely wonder why they have not built a hotel with the same theme. I would spend dear cash to be secluded in a place like this for a week, stopping time and experiencing whatever they have for me to experience. Renowned artist David Shringley takes care of the artwork within the venue and his depiction of the child’s view of the world is pure magic. Hence why it feels like you are entering in a wonderland for grown ups. India Mahdavi has redecorated the furniture in its current pink, stating ‘…pink is more than a colour, it is a mood’. I could nit agree more. It all just works to perfection. Sketch serves afternoon tea and dinner in this room Monday to Sunday.

You can purchase all the cups and plates as well, making your home Sketch-y.

When you are there, you have to try the alien egg toilets. This design is out there, I am a bit speechless to it but spent a decent amount of time taking selfies in the distorted mirrors.

The Parlour:
The Parlour, where we actually had breakfast, is a very different design. A bit more low key with its decor but it still has that special edge. I cannot put my finger on it but could have stayed there all day, day dreaming, night dreaming and maybe sleep walking. The food is absolutely yummy. As everything, it comes with a twist. My beloved Michelle ordered a full English and all the ingredients were chopped in small pieces and served together in a bowl. It tasted divine. I was a bit more boring with my choice and just got scrambled eggs on toast.

This place is a must visit, put it on your London bucket list and enjoy away. Some people say it is pricey but I think for what you get as an experience and quality, it is worth every penny (also, in my humble opinion, it really isn’t more pricey than any other Mayfair venue).
Enjoy away. X
