Ahhh London and its hidden gems right? The few places you you need to put on your to do list when going to London (one day, when they stop quarantine people, when they try to set foot at Heathrow). Summers in London have actually morphed into almost a proper season over the past 10 years. Interestingly, when I came to London back in 2010, summer was horrible; 19*, rain, wind, sometimes rain and wind…just not the idea you get when you say August. However, as the years rolled by, summer became more tolerable. Even, at some point, allowed me to think about having cocktails, coffee or brunch in the outdoors. So here are the 3 top places to experience London summer days.
The Berkeley , Belgravia
La Dolce Vita popped up back in 2019 and it was a hit from day 1. Transporting you into sunny, beautiful Italy as you step through the doors, this pop up terrace is definitely a must visit. It offers limited spaces though, so hurry and make a booking if you decide to pay them a visit.
Get your cappuccino crafted like you are on the Amalfi coast, or why not start with an Aperol spritz, I won’t judge 😉 To get you planning for a 2021 visit, did I mention the terrace opens up to a gorgeous pool and spa overlooking London?
Deyana recommends this spot for: Brekkie/Brunch

The Mandrake, Fitzrovia
The Jurema terrace is yet another hidden gem. The Mandrake hotel is an art piece, at the heart of center London. Once you enter the hotel, you begin your immersive journey into design, colours and forms and overall opulence. Jurema itself is like walking into a jungle at the heart of the city, no sound can be heard from the outside. The cuisine is inspired from South America. I definitely recommend the space for your cocktail needs, they are all bespoke and created by the very talented bar team.
Deyana recommends this spot for: late brunch/cocktails

The Firmdale, South Kensington
Number 16, one of the newly opened gorgeous Firmdale hotels. As usual their decor is inspired, with the highest attention to detail so shapes and colours come to create joy for the eyes and mind. As you walk through one of the cutest hidden gems at the heart of South Kensington, you reach a magical garden, which feels like a fairy tale. The staff are amazing, and will look after you well. Also, if you are after experiencing something quintessentially British, i cannot recommend this place enough.
Deyana recommends this spot for: afternoon tea/early dinner
For bookings please visit the Firmdale hotels website here.
Well, that’s a wrap for now, hopefully it inspired you to look forward to next summer 😉
