I recently went for a few days to beautiful Cyprus. I can only admire Grand Resort Limassol for the great service from landing to take off, they looked after me so well. After a not very pleasant British Airways flight, due to their new decision to reduce leg space in economy but still charge premium prices, I was a bit cranky on landing. However, my driver was waiting for me, right outside the gate. Whisked me away in 2 minutes, and I was at the back of an air-conditioned Mercedes, with a large bottle of ice cold water and some lovely music in the background. The 40min ride to Limassol had begun but I couldn’t be happier. This was all arranged by the hotel.
Grand Resort Limassol is a little bit outside of the city itself but so are all other 5 star resorts. It gives a bit more privacy and seclusion compared to busy and touristy Limassol.
I had a beautiful room overlooking the beach and sea. The bed was amazing, I think I slept 13 hours the first night and to be honest if my beach desire wasn’t so high, I could have probably slept through the day. It is this low, comfy bed, in a room with blackout curtains aircon and pure silence. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the bathroom which was too small and a bit cheap in comparison. However the bathroom amenities were really nice, natural, locally produced olive oil based creams and shampoos.
Breakfast was opulent. Served in a humongous marble hall, or in an outdoors terrace – your choice. The terrace was designed in a way to allow just the right amount of sunshine in, so you can eat and drink in peace without breaking a sweat.
There are multiple restaurants but I did find the food a bit boring for dinner after a few days as it felt it was always the same thing, or you had to go and do something fancy in another restaurant which i could not be bothered to do.
The hotel grounds have 2 pools, multiple bars and restaurants and a private beach. There is a sensory garden – collect your own herbs and hammocks in hidden corners, so you can just sleep, read, sunbathe and relax.
The staff is amazing – they ensured to check on me every time they passed by if I needed a drink or a snack (I always need a snack) 🙂
The beach is clean, the water is warm and very shallow, so anyone can enjoy it. Overall it is a great place to go and disappear for a few days, soak up the heat and relax.
