I did promise myself I will write this every month but I somehow missed March, so we jump straight into April. I know it has only been mere 10 days from the start of the month but I think I already found my favs, so here they are.
Abuelo Coffee, Covent Grden
The new kid on the block in Covent Garden, and it is a worth a visit. Opened just over 2 weeks ago, this new joiner from down under is a must on your London list. The interior is an Instagrammer’s dream brown and green tones, plants and candles. What else do you need? On top of that the furniture is all custom made in Oz, and the pillows are hand woven in Argentina, the artwork on the walls is by an Australian artist and are all flown into the UK.
Naz runs the shop and is always with a smile on her face, ready to sit and have a chat. All the staff are super friendly and ready to help out, recommend the best food or cake and just chat about life. I ate a new take on poached eggs, including some middle eastern nuances and it is one of the best I have ever tasted to be honest. The prices are also super reasonable for all of the above, so an absolute winner in my opinion.
Paper Mache Tiger, islington
Head over north to Islington, to find this romantic spot. It was a beautiful day when I visited, and the shop is pure perfection. Surrounded by beautiful clothes, pieces for the home and cute hang out areas, I just felt inspired being in the space. The table to the right straight after you enter, is by this floor to ceiling window, overlooking a gorgeous bloom. On the day, it was open and the spring breeze was filling the whole space. The space is inspired. There are puppies mingling around, and everyone is super friendly ready to have a chat. You have to try the donuts as well, they go well with any beverage.
Island Poke, Carnaby street
This is my wild card for the month. A place you will usually never find me. I have my lovely friend Morena (@mformorena) to thank for taking me there. It is a cute little restaurant near by Carnaby street, bringing Hawaii to London. It serves healthy rice/salad bowls with fresh fish or veggies. I never thought healthy can be so yum but it was good, filling and pretty. The inside offers 3 swings by the window, allowing for satisfactory people watching. You have to try it, if you love a good healthy meal. The portions are good and all products are fresh for the day, they always order just enough to make sure there are no leftovers. Sometimes they even finish things off but they never overstock, to ensure fresh ingredients.
I hope you enjoyed this month’s edition. x
