I had the opportunity to stay in Hotel Wellington Madrid in August. I am a sucker for hotels with a classic decor. It reminds of the days when travel was glamorous. Kind of that scene in Mad Men, where Don and Betty go to the Plaza in NYC and everything is just old Hollywood glam. Although, given that I worked in the hotel industry for some time, I should remind myself that times have changed and not everything that glitters is gold. I really do not want to bash hotels. However, I also value my money and if I am…

While cruising through summer in London, I am remembering some of my warm travels from previous months. As you know I visited Cortona back in the end of May and I absolutely loved the city. I stayed in Palazzo Tommasi. I have long wondered if I should write this post, as I have such mixed feelings about this stay. It is primarily a confusion as to what it says on the tin and what it actually was. I feel my whole, Florence and the surroundings hotel experiences, were a bit mismatched but I owe to share it with you guys.…

It has been a while since I was actually in Florence. This is one of the amazing perks of being a blogger – you can always mentally transport yourself back to a magical place by writing about it, editing the imagery and retracing your steps. The location Hotel Bernini Florence, accommodate us back at the end of May. Located in the heart of Florence, the hotel is a historic gem. A stone throw from Galleria degli Uffizi and Piazza della Signoria and Via Tornabuoni is also just around the corner – for all the shopaholics out there. It does not have a…

Florence, the heart of Tuscany and a city I had never visited until this May. I chose Grand Hotel Minerva Florence due to its central location and proximity to the station. As my plan was to tour around Tuscany, I wanted to be close to the station. Grand Hotel Minerva Florence is a modern classic. This term is probably not real in design or architecture but I find it the best way to describe the vibe. When in Florence, it is difficult to deviate from the city’s rich history and culture. I also do not think that hotels should be…

To continue my Easter story, I kind of liked the nice hot weather in Lisbon and decided to prolong our stay by 1 more night. We decided to change hotels from Dom Pedro Palace and hop off to the gorgeous Sofitel Lisbon. What do I regret about this decision? The fact that I only got to stay in there for less than 12 hours, as our flight was at 6 am the next morning. Sofitel Lisbon is a stunner. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the room we got was to die for. The hotel is modern, however keeping classic elements…

It seems like ages away now but Easter was just last week. I was really lucky to hop off to sunny Lisbon for 4 days and stay at the Dom Pedro hotel. While I was looking for a hotel, I fell in love with the interior of this place. It is really interesting as the exterior of the hotel is a modern looking tower. Then you step in and you are transported into a different time and age. Heavy drapery, rich details and extremely cosy atmosphere. Do not get fooled by the exterior I say. The Room: We got a…

Hello INK Amestrdam I had to go to beautiful Amsterdam for a quick trip last week. I had the pleasure of staying at the INK hotel M Gallery by Sofitel, in the centre of Amsterdam. It is a 3 minute walk from Dam Square and a 5 minute walk from the Central Station. This hotel is my spirit animal guys. Why, I hear you ask? Just see the coolest wall art in the internal courtyard. Why is it so cool? Well, sometimes people need to be reminded that not everything is set in stone in life, and everyone’s story is…

Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel Although 2016 was a questionable year in terms of world positivism, the ending of it for me, was marked with celebrating NYE in Vienna. Spending New Year’s in Vienna should be on everyone’s bucket list. It is a gorgeous time of the year but all the balls and street festivities make it even more special. Location I was really lucky to stay in the Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel. It is not in the city centre, however the location is within easy walking access to it. The hotel gives its guests this grand entrance feeling.…

Kasererbraeu hotel, Salzburg This hotel stay can be reviewed easily – it was amazing. I visited Salzburg in the end of December 2016 and stayed at the Kasererbraeu. The hotel is located in the Old Town, and is about 10Eur from the main train station. It is right under Salzburg castle, the steps going up to it, start at the street of the hotel. I loved that the hotel interior had so much character. Check in was quick and friendly, which I really appreciated after a long day of travel. The hotel’s overall ambience felt intimate and personal. It is rare…

Hotel Park Plaza Suites Marbella During my last stay in Marbella, myself and my friend stayed at Hotel Park Plaza Suites. We booked it on booking.com, primarily because of the amazing location. The hotel is a 4 star, and was selling at about £100/night. I rarely write anything negative on my blog when it comes to the hotels I visit. However, I think this one is just too misleading in its ranking and imagery on the website/booking.com. The images they have selected for the hotel are extremely re-touched, and have nothing to do with the actual state of the property.…
