Sofitel Budapest was our home for Christmas in 2017. Driving up to the hotel in the taxi was indicative of the view but the moment I walked into the room – oh boy. It was stunning. I will recommend a stay in the hotel, purely to see the sunset from there. Check in was really smooth and friendly, the room was on the 5th floor. The hotel has a funky interior, it kind of feels like a mega hotel in Asia with the lined up doors and just the sheer size of it. The lifts give a cool view when…

It seems fitting to write this post today. Looking out the window and seeing London getting covered in fresh, fluffy snow, it seems only fitting to talk about warm memories. The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica is an interesting architectural and historic gem. I love staying in hotels with character and history. This usually makes it tough for me to find one that I like in the US, given the love to modernity. When I saw The Georgian Hotel, I knew this was the place I wanted to stay in. The facade stands out from miles away and there was…

Artist Residence is a 10 bedroom hotel nestled in the heart of Pimlico. The building of the hotel dates back to 1852 and was designed by Thomas Cubitt himself. The hotel is unique, the collection of carefully selected furniture and accessories make it a creative gem. It is easy to go into a creative black hole sometimes and finding places such as Artist Residence, gives me inspiration. I was just editing the images from the day I visited and although it is relatively late while I sit and write this, I feel more awake than before I played with the…

I had the opportunity to stay in Hotel Wellington Madrid in August. I am a sucker for hotels with a classic decor. It reminds of the days when travel was glamorous. Kind of that scene in Mad Men, where Don and Betty go to the Plaza in NYC and everything is just old Hollywood glam. Although, given that I worked in the hotel industry for some time, I should remind myself that times have changed and not everything that glitters is gold. I really do not want to bash hotels. However, I also value my money and if I am…

While cruising through summer in London, I am remembering some of my warm travels from previous months. As you know I visited Cortona back in the end of May and I absolutely loved the city. I stayed in Palazzo Tommasi. I have long wondered if I should write this post, as I have such mixed feelings about this stay. It is primarily a confusion as to what it says on the tin and what it actually was. I feel my whole, Florence and the surroundings hotel experiences, were a bit mismatched but I owe to share it with you guys.…

It has been a while since I was actually in Florence. This is one of the amazing perks of being a blogger – you can always mentally transport yourself back to a magical place by writing about it, editing the imagery and retracing your steps. The location Hotel Bernini Florence, accommodate us back at the end of May. Located in the heart of Florence, the hotel is a historic gem. A stone throw from Galleria degli Uffizi and Piazza della Signoria and Via Tornabuoni is also just around the corner – for all the shopaholics out there. It does not have a…

Florence, the heart of Tuscany and a city I had never visited until this May. I chose Grand Hotel Minerva Florence due to its central location and proximity to the station. As my plan was to tour around Tuscany, I wanted to be close to the station. Grand Hotel Minerva Florence is a modern classic. This term is probably not real in design or architecture but I find it the best way to describe the vibe. When in Florence, it is difficult to deviate from the city’s rich history and culture. I also do not think that hotels should be…

To continue my Easter story, I kind of liked the nice hot weather in Lisbon and decided to prolong our stay by 1 more night. We decided to change hotels from Dom Pedro Palace and hop off to the gorgeous Sofitel Lisbon. What do I regret about this decision? The fact that I only got to stay in there for less than 12 hours, as our flight was at 6 am the next morning. Sofitel Lisbon is a stunner. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the room we got was to die for. The hotel is modern, however keeping classic elements…

It seems like ages away now but Easter was just last week. I was really lucky to hop off to sunny Lisbon for 4 days and stay at the Dom Pedro hotel. While I was looking for a hotel, I fell in love with the interior of this place. It is really interesting as the exterior of the hotel is a modern looking tower. Then you step in and you are transported into a different time and age. Heavy drapery, rich details and extremely cosy atmosphere. Do not get fooled by the exterior I say. The Room: We got a…

Hello INK Amestrdam I had to go to beautiful Amsterdam for a quick trip last week. I had the pleasure of staying at the INK hotel M Gallery by Sofitel, in the centre of Amsterdam. It is a 3 minute walk from Dam Square and a 5 minute walk from the Central Station. This hotel is my spirit animal guys. Why, I hear you ask? Just see the coolest wall art in the internal courtyard. Why is it so cool? Well, sometimes people need to be reminded that not everything is set in stone in life, and everyone’s story is…
