Eating in London

I did promise myself I will write this every month but I somehow missed March, so we jump straight into April. I know it has only been mere 10 days from the start of the month but I think I already found my favs, so here they are. Abuelo Coffee, Covent Grden The new kid on the block in Covent Garden, and it is a worth a visit. Opened just over 2 weeks ago, this new joiner from down under is a must on your London list. The interior is an Instagrammer’s dream brown and green tones, plants and candles.…

I am once again finding myself a bit lost for words but O-M-G! Sketch is a place of another realm. I have wanted to go there for so long. Every time I was meant to, something came up and I did not manage to fulfil my desire. A few weeks ago, I got a lovely early birthday surprise by the lovely Luke (@lukecabrahams) to have brunch on a Saturday. The ambience: Pictures do not do this place justice. The whole ambience is meant for all senses. The music, the staff, the decor, the smells – everything works together in making…

I thought it is a new year and a new me, so why not start a new tradition? I will share a wrap up of my favourite brunch spots every month, tell you all about what I loved and share some sneak peaks of food and interiors. Some will be all time favourites and some will be new arrivals. The Riding house cafe This beauty is nestled in Maryleborne. Make sure you book a table because it is busy, or it gets really busy after 10ish. The coffee is amazing and the pancake are to die for. For bookings, visit…

I have a confession to make – I am a recently converted lover of Indian food. I know, face palming myself as I say that. Somehow, for a very long time I thought it was too spicy for me and I kept on avoiding it, as I do not necessarily like spicy food. I am so annoyed on all the years of goodness I missed out. When I received an invite to go and experience the newly opened Bombay Bustle in Mayfair, I was excited to now feed my Indian food hunger. Have you been yet? Do you like Indian food?…

Taj 51 Buckingham Suites and Residences is a luxury 5 star hotel in the heart of London and  a part of the famous Taj Group. Located literally a 2 minute walk from Buckingham Palace, few addresses can be more prime that this. I had the pleasure of visiting Kona for an afternoon tea experience last week and it was so blissful. London is so busy and I treasure the moments in which I can just hide away from the hustle and bustle and relax. Kona, is a gem in the heart of the properties comprising the hotel, tucked within the…

My mum came to visit a few weeks ago and I wanted to take her to brunch. That extremely popular concept in the UK and the US, which nobody in Bulgaria really practices. I wanted to take her somewhere nice and special and I found Esca in Clapham. Priding themselves as a people’s place, Esca combines Italian and Celtic routes. We all know, there is nothing better than Italian hospitality. Esca offers  rich breakfast, brunch and lunch menu including mouthwatering, authentic Italian pasta,  all the brunch necessities such as avo on toast and then my personal favourite part – the…

Maggie Jones’s is a cosy, rustic and traditional restaurant in the heart of Kensington. It opened in 1976 as Nan’s kitchen but then changes name to Maggie Jones, the pseudonym under which Princess Margaret used to book.  It is right off Kensington Church Street and it spans over 2 floors, wooden decors and feeling like you entered your grandmother’s kitchen. I can say one thing, it is the perfect spot for winter. Hide away and warm up, with some hearty dishes, cooked with love by chef Rafal Kaczmarczyk, new Head chef coming from French restaurant La Poule au Pot in Belgravia. I was invited…

I know summer has come to an end in London. However, I would like to do a little throwback to a summer night, celebrated with Cidrerie Stassen and Neverland. Now, I do consider myself a Londoner (kind of at least) and for some reason I had never heard about Neverland. When the lovely guys from Cidrerie Stassen invited me for the launch of their luxury cider, I was very excited to check it out. We have all read Peter Pan and at some point possibly even dreamt about Neverland and going to hang out with the kids and never grow…

Have you tried the afternoon tea at Thomas’ yet? If not, drop what you are doing and head over because it is a-m-a-zing. Where to start? First, you can go through the main shop entrance or through Thomas’ own entrance. This is one big Burberry store, so I would say go through the store as it gives you this beautiful, grand feeling. This is going to be a very visual post, as I am genuinely in love with the lighting in this place – I finally know what true love is 😉 Thomas’ is split into 2 levels and I…

In July I had a Saturday night to myself and my lovely friend Michelle (@crazycatladyldn) and we got treated to a a lovely dining experience in Tagine Balham. If you are into North African cuisine , keep reading, as the experience was nothing short of fantastic. On their website, Tagine Balham refer to ‘the art of sensual cuisine’. And sensual it was – the interior, the smell, the taste and the ambience were nothing short of a feast to the senses. Tagine Balaham is located within 2 minutes from Tooting Bec Common. We drove there though and had a little…
