Vintage cars in the heart of London
I have always loved cars. Especially fast ones. However, since I got into this Instagram thing (?!) I have discovered a new found love for small, vintage and quirky looking cars. What a surprise it was that the streets of London offer plenty of opportunities for photographing these types of bugs. Spread all over the city you can find them anywhere. My usual cars’ hunting ground is the West end but I am also keen to explore East London soon.
What is the fuss all about?
Go on Instagram and check out #asundaycarpic. The hashtag brings Instagrammers from all over the planet together every Sunday, showing off the latest treasures discovered along the streets of this world. The backdrops of some of these shots are absolutely stunning. The colours of the cars, everything is just cool.
Finding them is not as easy though. If you live in London you know how tough it is to find parking. So cars are almost always bumper to bumper. A good picture requires some space between the cars, a good back drop (ideally one of those Kensington houses) and some depth at least. Finding a vintage car and then ensuring all these 3 parameters are met takes time. So nowadays I find myself waking up super early on a Saturday and roaming around Holland Park and Notting Hill hunting for the beauties.
I obviously treasure my Instagram account above all others (kidding), however there are a couple of fellow Instagrammers whose #asundaycarpics I absolutely love.
My tops are:
All three have a different perspective on the #asundaycarpic but their finds never fail to disappoint (their overall feeds are gorgeous too).
I hope you got inspired for your future car purchase. Or just head on to Instagram and have a browse of all those gorgeous car finds.
